Today, Sunday, October 11, brings showers and thunderstorms under mostly cloudy skies with a high near 54 and southwest winds 5 to 25 mph, gusting to 40 mph. A Wind Advisory covers the San Bernardino County Mountains from 5 AM today to 5 AM Monday, with southwest gusts up to 55 mph that could bring down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages. A Flood Watch runs through 8 PM tonight for much of Southwest California, with 1 to 2 inches of rain possible and some storms capable of heavy downpours. Showers taper Monday, but a colder low brings a chance of rain and snow showers, highs only in the 40s, and a snow level that could drop near 7,000 feet Monday night for the first snow of the season at the higher elevations. Tuesday turns sunny, and temperatures climb back into the upper 50s and low 60s by Thursday and Friday under dry northeast breezes, though nights will be cold, with lows in the upper 20s and low 30s.
