35th Annual Fun Run brings 450 classic cars — and up to 20,000 visitors — to Big Bear Village this weekend

The Big Bear Village is about to get a whole lot louder. The 35th Annual Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club Fun Run rolls into town Friday, August 7, for a free, three-day celebration of classic cars along Pine Knot Avenue and Village Drive — and organizers are expecting a crowd to match.
Around 450 classic cars will line up in designated parking spaces for the public to browse at no charge, drawing from roughly 30 different car clubs across the region. Total attendance is expected to reach as many as 20,000 people over the weekend. This year's show adds a new wrinkle alongside the traditional pre-1990 antiques and classics: a dedicated exotic sports car display. Visit Big Bear CEO Travis Scott described the scene as the village becoming "an open-air auto museum."
Saturday, August 8, is the event's biggest day. At 3:30 p.m., nearly 400 vintage cars will roll out on a traditional cruise around Big Bear Lake — a procession that's worth keeping in mind if you're planning to be on the road that afternoon. That evening, rockabilly legend The Reverend Horton Heat headlines a free outdoor concert, with The Rhythm Shakers opening, starting at 6 p.m. at the corner of Pine Knot Avenue and Village Drive.
The weekend wraps Sunday, August 9, with an awards ceremony at the Bartlett Road parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event isn't just a spectacle — it benefits the community directly. The Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club donates the majority of funds raised to more than 15 local charities, including a $2,000 scholarship awarded to one local high school student.
