By Big Bear News1 min read

The National Weather Service office in San Diego has issued a Heat Advisory for the San Bernardino County Mountains, in effect from August 6 through 8:00 PM PDT on Sunday, August 9.

At elevations below 6,500 feet, forecasters are expecting high temperatures in the mid-80s to upper 90s — a range that can pose real health risks for residents and visitors spending time outdoors. The NWS specifically warns that the heat may cause heat illnesses.

Residents should stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on neighbors — especially elderly residents and those without air conditioning. If you or someone you know shows signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, call 911 immediately. For the latest forecast updates, visit weather.gov or follow NWS San Diego.
