Big Bear Valley Electric Service reported an unplanned outage affecting some customers in the Village area beginning at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Crews were dispatched and are actively working to restore power, but BVES stated it is "unable to provide an estimated time of restoration at this time".

BVES noted that this afternoon's outage is separate from a planned outage that had already affected some customers earlier that same morning. The utility did not specify how many customers are impacted or identify the precise streets or blocks affected within the Village area.

Customers experiencing the outage can monitor updates at the BVES website or contact BVES directly to report their address and check restoration status.
