Nearly 100 people attended the Oct. 14 regular meeting of the Big Bear Lake City Council, Fire Protection District and Successor Agency at Hofert Hall, according to the Big Bear Grizzly. Most of them came to protest what they saw as an effort by the city to annex territory.

The Grizzly described the opposition as aimed at a "perceived" effort, meaning the protest was driven by what attendees believed the city was pursuing. The excerpt of the Grizzly's report available to Big Bear News ends mid-sentence, before it names the territory in question. This account does not include any response from city officials.

The meeting was a combined regular meeting of the City Council, the Fire Protection District and the Successor Agency.
