By Big Bear News1 min read1 source

The California Highway Patrol's statewide incident feed lists an open "assist Caltrans with maintenance" item on State Route 18 at Arctic Circle. The feed files the item under its "Arrowhead" area.

The feed entry reads: "MZP-Assist CT with Maintenance — Sr18 / Artic Circle — Arrowhead — open." (The feed spells the location "Artic Circle.") The entry does not say what kind of maintenance is under way, how long it will last, or whether any lanes are closed. SR-18 is one of the main routes into the Big Bear Valley, so drivers heading up or down the mountain may want to check Caltrans' current road conditions before they leave.
