Hands down the best open-access gym in Big Bear. High Altitude Training Center has all the machines, weight racks and equipment that you could want, and there is plenty of equipment so even when it's busy- there is room to move and equipment available. The staff & support are helpful. HATC is newly renovated, always clean, has a great class schedule and is opening the cafe/ juice bar soon. This is easily the best gym in town. The weight room is extensive and has everything you could possibly need, whether you are focused on heavy lifting, general fitness, or conditioning. There is plenty of space and the equipment is always in great shape. Everything is clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully set up. The hours of operation are also unbeatable and make it easy to train no matter what your schedule looks like. If you are looking for a gym that truly has it all, this is the one.

It truly is nice to have a gym of this capacity here in big bear. The extension of Saturday hours has been really great for those of us that work during the daytime. However, the bathroom situation is pretty bad. Having 1 of 2 stalls open since opening and now the only urinal out of order is pretty inconvenient. Not to mention the lack of cleanliness standards. Would be nice to see these “small” details looked after. Especially seeing as how busy this place gets.
