Pine Knot Trail 1E01

A+ trail. I hiked it to Grandview and back, 7 miles round trip. Stopping to Birdwatch and taking the views it took me 3 1/2 hours round-trip. It’s a beautiful trail to take in the fall colors in late October. By far the best hike I’ve done in big Bear. It flattens out somewhat towards the top. Fun to see views of the lake on the lower half of the trail.

I love hiking and this trail is a beautiful medium level short hike... that needs additional markers. I liked it but, a few times I was left wondering if I'd taken a detour when the path split (Not a good feeling).

Moderate hike, great views of the lake, mountains, lots of green, wild flowers. The sun was very bright, but there are plenty of areas with shade. Bring plenty of water, a hat, and sunscreen.
