New residential trash collection schedule starts Oct. 12 in Big Bear Lake

The City of Big Bear Lake and Big Bear Disposal, Inc. have announced an updated residential trash collection schedule that takes effect Monday, October 12, 2026.^[1] The change is meant to optimize pickup routes by spreading collection days more evenly.^[1] For Big Bear Lake households, that means the day trucks come to your curb may differ from the one you are used to, so residents should check their pickup day before putting bins out the week of October 12.

The announcement was dated October 5, 2026, giving residents one week of notice before the new schedule begins.^[1]

The published announcement does not say which neighborhoods or streets will see a different pickup day, and it does not list a phone number or web page for confirming a specific address. Residents who are unsure of their new day can start with Big Bear Disposal, Inc., which made the announcement together with the city.
