Small power outage hits 500 block of Badger Lane today until 4 p.m.

Big Bear Electric Service says a planned outage on the 500 block of Badger Lane runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, and affected homes have pink door hangers.

Customers on the 500 block of Badger Lane in Big Bear Valley are without power today, Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, during a small outage scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to BVES. For people on that block, that means roughly eight hours without electricity during the workday, so anyone who relies on power for medical equipment, remote work, refrigeration or heating should plan around the window.

BVES posted its outage alert at 9:18 a.m. Oct. 23, after the outage window had already begun. The alert states that "all homes that will be affected have been tagged with a pink door hanger." Residents on or near the 500 block who are unsure whether their home is included can check their door for the pink tag.

The BVES alert does not say why the work is needed or how many customers are affected. It describes the outage only as "small" and lists no other streets. Power is scheduled to be off until 4 p.m. today.
