Bear Bowl XI returns to Bear Mountain on Feb. 13 with season passes on the line

The free team competition tests speed, agility, and accuracy — and the prize is worth bragging about.

Big Bear Mountain Resort (BBMR) is bringing back one of its most spirited mid-winter traditions: Bear Bowl XI, set for Saturday, February 13, 2027, at Bear Mountain.

The competition pits four-person teams against each other across three challenges designed to settle who's fastest, most nimble, and most precise on the mountain. A relay race measures raw speed, a tire course tests agility, and a field goal kicking contest decides accuracy — the team with the highest combined point total takes the trophy.

The stakes are real. Whichever team comes out on top gets to choose between a 27/28 BBMR Anytime season pass or a $400 BBMR gift card.

Entry is free, but spots go fast — registration is limited to the first 10 teams to sign up at Bear Mountain. All competitors must hold a valid 26/27 season pass or a day-ticket to participate. Teams with riders under 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete a liability waiver before they can compete.

Interested teams should head to the Bear Mountain registration desk sooner rather than later to lock in their spot before all 10 fill up.
