Snow Summit will close out the year in style on December 31, 2026, hosting its 62nd Annual New Year's Eve Party and Torchlight Parade — one of Big Bear Valley's longest-running holiday traditions.

The evening spectacle begins around 6 PM, when more than 200 skiers and snowboarders will carry torches down the mountain, turning the darkened slopes into a river of light before a signature "(snow)ball drop" rings in the new year. Admission to the parade viewing area is free, making it an accessible option for families and residents who want to celebrate without buying a lift ticket.

For those planning a full day, the mountain opens at 8:30 AM on December 31, with skiing, snowboarding, lessons for all skill levels, equipment rentals, and on-site dining available throughout the day. Live entertainment is scheduled to run from daytime hours straight through to the evening torchlight event.

A note on costs: Lift tickets, rentals, and any ticketed party access beyond the free viewing area are not detailed in the resort's announcement. Big Bear News could not confirm full pricing for the day-long experience, so visitors should check Snow Summit's website or contact the resort directly before making plans.

The event is scheduled for December 31, 2026, at Snow Summit on Big Bear Boulevard. More details are expected to be posted at the resort's official website as the date approaches.
